the heritage is, the great great grand father would have been so proud, amazed and would have loved the idea of great great grand daughters baking, fulfilling dreams, breathing life into their own recipes vegan and gluten free. Based on culinary curiosity, not afraid of anything that breaks down the status quo. And I’m in total admiration. Love it. Daughters with love for food, I am what I eat in all its variety and flavors and so very happy I could go with their flow becoming vegan all along and consequently we took over our own kitchen to develop and transform into a new adventure . Reinvented patisserie. Mediterranean girls with an orange heart, the sea and the flavors from Cassis and Marseilles. Memories and shared cultural heritage from the north, the Netherlands. Couldn’t resist to post this. Zei je nu lente ? Wow after a long week of flue and an April month way too humid and so cold it feels at last Spring is in the air. I’ve been enjoying all the wonderful tulips at Embankment on one of the finest days of April. Beautiful cakes made by my daughters for birthdays and sweet weekends. Experiments their with own recipes and completely vegan and gluten free. Moist cake and velvet filling finished with strawberries and marzipan on top. Le Fraisier reinvented 🍓🍰. I tidied the library in both living and dining room. Heavy lifting with all the arts books and a magnificent clean, neat composition. Brought new collections into the living and the heavy political and and sociological stuff into the hallway library. And then I ran out of time as did the puff pastry so I made a variation of puff pastry topped with ratatouille, one for the gluten people and one for the non gluten people. Big tomatoes. Salad with a good grind of fresh pepper and chopped basil and a spinach based salted with all the herbs left in the fridge. Today I’ll travel and I look forward to embrace my daughter in the city of light. Spring seems there? Light fills the room and the grown up trees outside wave only slightly in a soft breeze. Gone is the cold chilly weather. Kind of best blueberries - banana pancakes, spoiled by daughters and their ways. Always grateful and surprised and love for food brings best flavors and moments to hold on to . Becoming vegan six years ago has been a good thing, a happy thing a rich thing to do . As mentioned so often now in other posts when one is obsessed with allergies because it’s life threatening you’ll learn and understand , grap the picture the way forward and the ultimate best way to cope is in the now, present and today focus on what I eat is who I am and suits my body and makes me feel safe and not afraid. The journey in the journey, the book in the book, the travels in the travels and the international moves clearly a focus on health, safety and beautiful food. new season, parade of colours and my dearest tulips in abundance, wild here and planted or not so much, popped up vividly spontaneously when spring blows, winter skies gone. Seems, feels this little garden in the greatness that is Regent Park so very special today, a very happy treat. The vegetables now seem to be picked not randomly and in utter resemblance to the tulips I only found today in my backyard which is the park that is always an invitation to go walk in and wander and get lost again and again like the very first walk I had a decade ago. Voorjaar, spring, le printemps. Vegan and gluten free treats for one and vegan for the others. Family dinner in sessions and set in different times and clocks. Rhythm vary for each, food made with love and laughter and this time too with delay as we ran out of zucchini’s and red peppers, when the night falls later it doesn’t matter to take time. I love taking time and love spring. green, greens and leaves, lots of happiness this night. Vegan and gluten-free, fluffiness and a velvet flavour with a mixture of olive oil and chickpea flour. Ramadan, indigo’s blue, Moroccan pattern’s at my table in a chilly London. Different schedules and days for family members, living together under one roof. This cake with broccoli and maze is easy to reheat and makes it perfect for eating at different times throughout the evening. After winter comes spring and make any heart pop.
