the heritage is, the great great grand father would have been so proud, amazed and would have loved the idea of great great grand daughters baking, fulfilling dreams, breathing life into their own recipes vegan and gluten free. Zei je nu lente ? Wow after a long week of flue and an April month way too humid and so cold it feels at last Spring is in the air. I’ve been enjoying all the wonderful tulips at Embankment on one of the finest days of April. Beautiful cakes made by my daughters for birthdays and sweet weekends. Experiments their with own recipes and completely vegan and gluten free. Moist cake and velvet filling finished with strawberries and marzipan on top. Le Fraisier reinvented 🍓🍰. I tidied the library in both living and dining room. Heavy lifting with all the arts books and a magnificent clean, neat composition. Brought new collections into the living and the heavy political and and sociological stuff into the hallway library. And then I ran out of time as did the puff pastry so I made a variation of puff pastry topped with ratatouille, one for the gluten people and one for the non gluten people. Big tomatoes. Salad with a good grind of fresh pepper and chopped basil and a spinach based salted with all the herbs left in the fridge. Today I’ll travel and I look forward to embrace my daughter in the city of light. Spring seems there? Light fills the room and the grown up trees outside wave only slightly in a soft breeze. Gone is the cold chilly weather. new season, parade of colours and my dearest tulips in abundance, wild here and planted or not so much, popped up vividly spontaneously when spring blows, winter skies gone. Seems, feels this little garden in the greatness that is Regent Park so very special today, a very happy treat. The vegetables now seem to be picked not randomly and in utter resemblance to the tulips I only found today in my backyard which is the park that is always an invitation to go walk in and wander and get lost again and again like the very first walk I had a decade ago. Voorjaar, spring, le printemps. Vegan and gluten free treats for one and vegan for the others. Family dinner in sessions and set in different times and clocks. Rhythm vary for each, food made with love and laughter and this time too with delay as we ran out of zucchini’s and red peppers, when the night falls later it doesn’t matter to take time.
