IamWhatIeatproject.com is part of the fresh start I made this week. Finely focusing on my project about my allergic daughter. The relationship between the mother and the child is of vital importance. As are the strong liaisons with her sisters. Our little community made things more easy for Solange. To live and to deal with limitations caused by allergies can be much less dramatic when you feel supported by your environment. Allergies become challenges. Basic food, healthy ingredients and common sense are high priority. Reasonable acting for a youngster sounds far from easy to accomplish but in the case of my daughter it is just the only choice.
To get there is a long way, a challenge, an emotional fight not without frustations.
The IAmWhatIEatProject forms a unity with the blogs we are creating.
Just some notes:
The Blue Birthday cake has a special signification for me in her history. Today 11 years old, she has a long history in living and travelling abroad and who knows that it gave me the attitude of never being to much stressed out with her variety of allergies.
When you are away, without the extended family around, having your first child, you need to take the decisions by your own.
When we start testing Solange for allergies, I spoke with the analphylaxis organisation in the Netherlands, I felt depressed. The woman I spoke to was so nervous about everything. I didn't feel things the same way she did. Now many years after this conversation, I do respect her opinion and I think in the end we all need to act and to deal with the allergies of our children in our very personal way. A way that fits the family.
