As such to say: allergies are kind of tricky things...
We are going through a sort of very quiet period.
Really no ups and downs, some eczema on the arms, now and then a dry eyelid. Nothing to worry to much about. I would say, so far so good since we returned to Rabat last August, after our summertime in Europe and the States.
Surprise, surprise and that's what allergies are all about. Yesterday evening she left for a sleepover at a friend's house. Around 10 pm I received a phone call from my girl, that she didn't feel that OK. She then already had taken her medication, but she still complained about painful eyes, stomach ache and just not feeling well.
I spoke with her for about ten minutes and she decided to stay at her friend's house but, when things were getting worse, she would come home and her friend's dad would bring her home. Less than 20 minutes later the doorbell rang, this one is so loud, her sisters slept already. I opened the front door and she flew, kind of into the house, went upstairs and straight into her bed. I went quick outside to check with my friend. He told me that she only had food she could have but just felt strange. He asked me if he could help out by going to a drugstore or whatever, nice, caring. It feels so good to have friends, not standing alone. In these moments, here in Rabat, it is just what you need: somebody you can count on. especially while my husband is travelling again.
Upstairs I found Solange in her bed, very warm, but no fever, coughing and having red eyes.
I sat with her, brought her some cold water and a wet towel to put over her warm arms. My night was light and some sleepless, my eyes and ears half open. She had a good night rest and this morning she felt better, her eyes still a bit red and swollen but ready to take off to school. The sun is out and it looks like a glorious day. Kids, our children, teens they are so fragile and so brave, health is not granted, love the day, every day!
