Season's flavors: cinnamon

Cinnamon Toast  (Toast à la canelle)

makes 12
3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
5 teaspoons ground cinnamon
12 slices bread

Preheat the oven to 450%. Work the butter, sugar, and ground cinnamon into a smooth paste. Spread the mixture evenly over the slices of bread. arrange the slices on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes, or until the butter bubbles. Serve hot.
