Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

Local products in Westminster London

This morning I went as I always like to do to my local market, I am delighted that we have this market just around the corner. Despite the weather, the wind is getting stronger now, the sky is suspicious, the day is getting darker and the clock is turned back another hour. Love to visit my market , as I call it these days, it gives the right pleasure in the city where you tumble over all and everything that is fast, quick, and part if a bigger chain. This market seems for little people, few humans, locals and food lovers, locals and internationals , those away from home, like us. Funny I miss my Rabat vegetable man! long to my Cassis market and never forget the markets in east Amsterdam. This Marylebone market is a mix of vegetables! meat and poultry , flowers and bread, boulagerie and fancy sausages and a range of cheeses. Prefer to walk with my husband so we can bring home more, the wight goes easily up if I like to buy lots of fruits too. So this morning, while the girls didn't feel like coming along, and he is in Turkey, I went alone. Came home with one bag of small apples, fresh from the country side, tomatoes because I like to make the star sardines/ mozzarella tomatoes pie for B. Variety of fresh organic bread, sunflower, white French country loaf, soft white organic for favorite panini with Parma ham and again mozzarella and fresh chopped basel.
Two bunch of flowers , those who bring me back in Balazuc. Purple and pink, light leaves like butterflies. Two boxes of strawberries, the lady who sells those , is from an east European country, she got the nice warm accent and always so helpful and relaxed. I was late and the market was already closing down. There are no special prices for the late clients, and while the sellers are packing their last merchandise into wooden crates I strolled along the stands and found what I was looking for. Two green salads. I washed one already this afternoon and the leaves are crispy and clean. It will be a tasty side dish  along with the ratatouille, a leftover and turkey sautéed in olive oil and garlic, rosemary and thyme. The salad will be served with a nice dressing and the ultimate best balsamic I got from Denise .
The apples and the strawberries are both optional for dessert.
While I imagine that some I will use for my birthday on Wednesday .
