Struggling with my time. Fighting with my fridge. To much vegetables and especially to much of pumpkin. So I have all kind of recipe books around me, a pile on my desk and some close the chimney. The Moroccan home is not made to stay warm when wind blows around the corners of our residence better put the fire on. And my daughters are like little fire magicians. But during the day I need to it by myself. Unknown qualities, and it is fun to bring the wood in, prepare the newspaper balls and blow my head of while pushing my body in front of the fireplace. The recipes though are endless like it seems to me and I need to make a choice. So I will make some jams, chutneys and pies. Every day one recipe that will work for me.
Discipline is not my ultimate force but I will adjust to the necessity of my full fridge and to empty it.
Yesterday evening we had:
baby zucchini
pumpkin
branches of thyme
salt and pepper
garlic
lemon and olive oil
All vegetables nicely chopped in rather large pieces, topped with the thyme branches and pressed garlic, pored with olive oil and lemon. Prepared in a warm oven.
A nice orange color never annoys, like it seems.
