Gulf sounds and sites, places to be and spots to visit.
Caring about each other and having a same purpose: spending time together.
Winter break has been a time for all those projects.
Time to share late afternoon lunches or early dinners.
A nasty allergic reaction causes a break down of such a splendid moment.
Food...
unknown recipes...
trustful images...
personal experiences...
hesitation about some dishes...
still she trust herself and the choices she makes...
we ask and discuss...
we check and double check...
we like to avoid all risks ofcourse...
no doubt about our spirit of common sense!
Double dosis of medication.
Total disorder.
Angry.
Disappointment.
Remarkable and to remember:
the medication was in the car while her first reaction appeared;
her father seems to believe that a placebo might work as well as the prescribed medication;
she mentions that she never has reactions or any problems as long as she is among friends;
feels terrible;
sick, likes to vomit, stomach ache, takes twice the dosis of the medication;
feels her throat iches; feels it is not going away;
finds that walking outside is giving her air;
doesn't like to drink too much water, makes her very nauseous;
wants to write it all down, since the moment she remembers she had these allergic reactions.
A strong family moment.
All (parents and siblings) react in different ways.
Split up of a table session.
Odd scene.
Compilation of weird feeling, anxiety, panic...
No medication available, immediate leave to car in parking, coming back, move from ouside terrace inside the restaurant, mobilise the people in the restaurant for fresh water with ice cubes, supporting her, going out again, walking with her, breathing, sitting next to her on a bench.
Slowly getting better, feeling her body reacts in a positive way.
Laughing, relieve.
Sees and feels she has a story to tell.
Knowing that the allergies are there, still and always, hiding sometimes, lately and then out of the blue unexpected they appear, brutal.
Always a need for understanding.
